Hey Everyone,

So, Adam is doing well. He had his follow-up with Neuro Surgery on Tuesday and they're pretty sure everything is healing as it should be. It's crazy that it was only a month ago that he fell, with family and all of the stress of dealing with it (the fall, not family), it just seems like so much has happened since then.

Everything else is going fine though. Adam has now had rice cereal, bananas (baby-sized as you can see in the picture below), and sweet potatoes (his second day with them is tomorrow). If you're worried, since he's not at that 6-month mark, don't be. I'm doing it safely [he gets only one thing at a time, every other day, 5 times, before he can start something new (for allergy purposes)] and I make sure and mix it with some of his formula, given to him only after he finishes the first bit of formula he has (that way the consistency is good and he isn't reducing any of his formula intake, since until 6-months, it should be his main form of nutrients). Wow, if I was saying all of that out loud, I think I'd be tongue-tied/exhausted.

Okay, so, as always, time for pics:

Adam's first ride in Daddy's car (thanks to Uncle Allen and Aunt Ellen).
Sometimes his nap timing hinders my working.
Yes, he actually sleeps like this.
This is actually a play mat I made (as you can read about here).
I've recently discovered that when he gets fussy (for whatever reason), I can turn on my iTunes visualizer and it mesmerizes him long enough for me to do whatever I need to do (make his bottle or something else quick).

Until next time!

Almost 5 months!

I'm sorry for disappearing on you guys. Family came in and so Thomas and I pretty much lived at his grandparents' house for nearly two weeks (as I know a lot of y'all know first hand :)).

I know I promised to go into detail about what happened when Adam fell, but I've since decided that it's best to just focus on the good stuff (plus, all of the bad is mentioned in post I linked to in my previous post) and quickly tell you all that, if I didn't mention before, he did get a skull fracture in the front of his head, have to get three stitches, and spend the night and next day in the PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), but, as his pediatrician noted, "he dodged a bullet" and seems to be doing just great. We go back to MUSC on the 24th of this month for a neurology follow up, but more on that when it happens.

As far as how he's progressing, he's super alert and seems to be starting to understand some of what's going on around him; he's doing great with his rolling over and now likes to poke his butt up into the air and try to scoot along whenever he can; and he's on track to finally start veggies on Saturday (his pediatrician said to try things by themselves for five days before switching, and so, though I started him on rice cereal nearly a month ago, I only got around to giving it to him for a fifth time today, with all of the hubbub going on).

He's gotten to where he sleeps in some pretty crazy positions now that he has more control over it.

He got to have fun with and meet a lot of new, pretty cool people, from my friends Katie and Ricky, to his great aunts and uncles and second cousins (like "Aunt Joanie" here).

And just stayed all around adorable. I took this picture today after he was done eating (and I adorned his head with a frog hat that's definitely too small for him now) and I'm pretty sure it's my favorite now).

Finally, I added Thomas as an author to this, so expect plenty of pictures on his behalf. He loves capturing moments with his little tyke.

Sleeping!

Sleeping super cutely!
