Almost 5 months!

I'm sorry for disappearing on you guys. Family came in and so Thomas and I pretty much lived at his grandparents' house for nearly two weeks (as I know a lot of y'all know first hand :)).

I know I promised to go into detail about what happened when Adam fell, but I've since decided that it's best to just focus on the good stuff (plus, all of the bad is mentioned in post I linked to in my previous post) and quickly tell you all that, if I didn't mention before, he did get a skull fracture in the front of his head, have to get three stitches, and spend the night and next day in the PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), but, as his pediatrician noted, "he dodged a bullet" and seems to be doing just great. We go back to MUSC on the 24th of this month for a neurology follow up, but more on that when it happens.

As far as how he's progressing, he's super alert and seems to be starting to understand some of what's going on around him; he's doing great with his rolling over and now likes to poke his butt up into the air and try to scoot along whenever he can; and he's on track to finally start veggies on Saturday (his pediatrician said to try things by themselves for five days before switching, and so, though I started him on rice cereal nearly a month ago, I only got around to giving it to him for a fifth time today, with all of the hubbub going on).

He's gotten to where he sleeps in some pretty crazy positions now that he has more control over it.

He got to have fun with and meet a lot of new, pretty cool people, from my friends Katie and Ricky, to his great aunts and uncles and second cousins (like "Aunt Joanie" here).

And just stayed all around adorable. I took this picture today after he was done eating (and I adorned his head with a frog hat that's definitely too small for him now) and I'm pretty sure it's my favorite now).

Finally, I added Thomas as an author to this, so expect plenty of pictures on his behalf. He loves capturing moments with his little tyke.

Sleeping!

Sleeping super cutely!

If you don't follow anything else I write, here's a quick post I made detailing what I thought about how we were treated at both hospitals we were at with Adam.

The Update that should've been

Hey Everyone,

Tuesday morning, I planned to update this with tons of pictures and the news that Adam's not only 25 and a quarter inches long (maybe three-quarters if I heard wrong), and 15 pounds 6 ounces, he's also finally rolling around (seriously, every time I lay him down, before I know it, he's on his stomach) and is slowly learning how to eat from a spoon; but one thing led to another and I just didn't get to it. I know a lot of y'all probably want more information about the other night, and I will write about it, but I don't really want to relive it just yet, so that may be a post (or a series of posts) for later today/the next few days. Here's the aforementioned update though.

Pools, Naps, and Playthings: a brief update

I just wanted to add a few pics and a video that I left out the other day/ just took (forgive the lack of detail; I'm feeding Adam and only have one bottle free hand).

As you can see, by the way, Adam went swimming for the first time this past weekend. Don't worry, we made sure the water was just the right temperature, put plenty of sunscreen on him, and made sure he didn't go under.
